초록
Korea’s agricultural heritage policy was launched by Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) in 2012 Based on The Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) program which was introduced by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 2002. Once a site is designated as a KIAHS site, it is institutionalized for budget support for the conservation management of KIAHS for three years according to the Utilization of Pluralist Resources of Rural Area Project (UPRP) of the MAFRA. However, there is no practical management system for the dynamic conservation of KIAHS for the finished projects. This study, therefore, aims to present a sustainable and efficient conservation management system through the development of monitoring indicators for systematic management of KIAH sites. To this end, this study conducts literature review, case study and field studies. As a result, the derived indicators are finally compressed to 17 by the stepwise verification process. Based on this, we presented a management system for effective conservation of KIAHS sites by clearly suggesting the type, timing, subject and method of monitoring necessary for each monitoring step. The results of this study can be used to establish the system for the management of Korea's important agricultural heritage, as well as suggestions for countries and organizations that have agricultural heritage such as FAO, China and Japan.
