Nowadays, e-commerce is an important entity in our everyday life. To build such e-commerce systems effectively, large amounts of data need to be managed and a large number of application programs needs to be developed. To alleviate this burden, this work proposes new designs for database and stored procedures. The database design focuses on a simple but an efficient storage of ecommerce- related data. On top of the database, stored procedures were designed to reduce the burden of application programming. The stored procedures were categorized into basic and advanced stored procedures. To show the applicability of the proposed designs for creating e-commerce systems, a simple website was developed and evaluated.
