아토피피부염은 만성적으로 재발을 자주 하는 알레르기 염증성피부질환이다.1 영유아와 소아에서 호발하며, 세계적으로 10%–20%의 유병률을 보이며, 국내에서도 높은 유병률을 보인다.1-3 아토피피부염의 치료에서 가장 기본이 되는 것은 악화 요인 회피와 올바른 목욕과 보습제 사용을 통한 피부관리이다. 아토피피부염의 약물치료는 국소스테로이드제, 국소칼시뉴린억제제 등의 국소 항염치료가 병변을 소실시키기 위한 적극치료로 사용되며, 피부 감염이 동반되면 국소항생제나 전신항생제를 투여하고, 국소적인 치료에 반응하지 않는 심한 경우 경구항히스타민제, 경구스테로이드제, 면역억제제, 광선 치료 등으로 치료할 수 있다.
