Abstract
Dream is a psycho-physiological phenomena, and major nightly event. Even though Freud discovered the unconscious meaning of dreams as a kind of psychological black box, and said that dreams were a royal road to the Unconscious, modern analysts have not continued to focus on dream analysis, but rather on transference analysis for the technical tools. This does not mean that dream analysis is useless. Rather, psychotherapists shouldn’ be hypersensitive to the changing focus in terms of practical techniques. Unlike psychoanalysts, psychotherapists does not thoroughly explore deep-rooted unconscious meanings. Therefore, psychotherapists should take a balanced interest in dreams, defense mechanisms, resistance, transference, interaction, and even conscious materials. The primary reason for exploring dreams in psychotherapy is the understanding of a patient’s conflict. If we regard dreams as a useful expediency for an access route into a patient’s inner world, psychotherapists need not avoid dream content. Of course,we don’t expect a pill to cure an earthquake to give us the Ed.Highlight: Unclear. Please revise best result; however, it is important that any issue affecting patients should be treated by clinicians effectively and earnestly.
