초록

This study examines inflatable fashion designs from 2015 to 2025, systematically categorizing their air structures, material innovations, and inflation technologies while assessing their potential to enhance both visual and functional aspects of contemporary fashion. By combining literature review with case analysis, we identify two main design approaches: visual expression, which includes exaggerated static silhouettes and transformable dynamic structures, and functional performance, which offers impact mitigation, thermal regulation, and buoyancy capabilities. Our research highlights three primary material categories—lightweight synthetics, elastic textiles, and advanced composites—each serving distinct design purposes. In terms of inflation technologies, we differentiate between user-operated manual systems and smart sensor-driven automated solutions. The study posits that air structures challenge traditional body-centric paradigms by introducing new structural and performative possibilities. Beyond expanding aesthetic boundaries, inflatable fashion emerges as a dynamic medium that integrates interactive features with protective functions, suggesting new creative-technological synergies in the fashion industry. This interdisciplinary convergence indicates significant potential for future development at the intersection of design, engineering, and wearable technology.
