Abstract

Investigation on Constructivism-Based Online EducationKang Woon SunTaegu UniversityWorld Wide Web has been growing at a phenomenal rate. It contains a vast array ofinformation ranging from news, to government information, to entertainment. This paper hasdemonstrated the alternative ways in which educators may become acquainted with and beginutilizing the enormous information resources held in World Wide Web. For instance, the paththrough the Internet the learner takes is a function of what they want to do using Web tosupport student-led collaborative learning, what they find for themselves, what other learnersrecommend and what they have suggested to them by teachers. Also, in this paper, I describemodule for social studies classroom. The module makes considerable use of internetcommunication to support student-led collaborative group work. A key feature of the module isits use of internet. The learning strategy that I have adopted to achieve these features is basedupon constructivism. Constructivism in education stress on providing a learning environmentthat contains opportunities for students to engage in practical activity using material as internet,reflect on this activity in order to reconcile and integrate it with their previous knowledge, andhave the opportunity to apply their new understanding to novel situations.
