Abstract
This study analyzes the business efficiency of Pummok Nonghyup (Item-based Agricultural Cooperative), a part of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, in order to improve the future management and offer desirable objectives. To that end, a DEA model was employed, targeting 47 branches in the country. And the following is the results of the analysis. First, as regards the basic statistics, the number of the staff was 67.5, the number of cooperative members was 1,657, project operating expenses were 5,243 million won, business project expenses were 49,949 million won, credit project expenses were 61,135 million won, and mutual-aid project expenses were 2,725 million won. Second, the average efficiency of 47 branches was 0.81864, and the number of branches attaining the efficiency of 1.00 was 11(23.4%). Third, of DMU(Decision Making Unit) that has lower efficiency scores, DMU15 revealed an excess of input while business projects were viewed as requiring adjustment as to output and credit projects as relatively insufficient.
