Abstract

In recent years, low-priced furniture has been overflowing due to industrialization, but consumer demand for good design and high-quality products is also high. In addition, there is a great need for the development of products that reflect Korean tradition and culture as well as global interest in Korean Wave culture. The purpose of this paper is to develop cultural product as a modern luxury brand that reflects Korean traditional image. The research method was studied theoretically based on the literature, and the architectural structure of Korea was extracted based on it. Focused on furniture design combining Korean culture and traditional image with modern image. The contents of the study are as follows: First, the characteristics of traditional architectural style of Korea are simplified and structured. Second, as a furniture design stage, we design products that combine traditional images with modern images. Third, the furniture is made by combining the extracted architectural elements with actual products. As a result of the research, three pieces of furniture made of small table, large table and long table were made. In this study, to develop a variety of products that reflect traditional Korean images, we simplified the architectural style and extracted the traditional elements and made them into furniture design. Through this research, it is meaningful to contribute to the development of cultural products to globalize Korean products based on traditional culture.
