Abstract
In the recent evolution of the F&B industry, store spaces have increasingly transformed from mere points of sale into platforms that foster emotional connections between customers and brands. This shift is particularly evident in small-scale bakery stores located in office-dense areas, where spatial constraints and high foot traffic make circulation design a critical factor influencing customer experience and brand perception. This study aims to systematically identify and analyze recurring spatial issues in ‘P’ bakery stores situated in office zones, and to empirically examine the impact of free-form circulation design on customer experience. The research employs a multi-phase methodology including literature review, case analysis, site assessment, spatial simulation, surveys, and quantitative analysis. Key analytical dimensions include convenience, exploration experience, congestion management, turnover optimization, customer satisfaction, brand perception, and behavioral response. The findings reveal that free-form circulation fosters autonomous exploration and immersive experiences, positively influencing customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. This suggests that circulation design serves not merely as a tool for movement efficiency but as a strategic element in building emotional engagement with customers. By proposing circulation design strategies optimized for office commercial zones, this study provides both theoretical and practical foundations for spatial planning and brand experience design, and offers valuable guidelines for franchise expansion and customer-centric renovation strategies.
