테라헤르츠(terahertz; THz) 파를 이용한 2차원(2D) 투과 이미지의 개선 특성에 대해서 보고한다. THz 파 투과 신호의 진폭과 위상을 이용하여 다양한 시료에 대한 2차원 이미지를 얻었다. THz 파의 진폭과 위상 정보를 조합하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였고, 이 방법을 이용하여 피크 값의 크기 혹은 위상 중 어느 한가지만을 이용한 이미지보다 나은 이미지를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 호모몰픽 필터링(homomorphic filtering) 디지털 이미지 처리(digital image processing) 가 노이즈를 저감시키는데 효율적이고 나은 품질의 이미지도 얻을 수 있음을 보인다. 이 결과를 이용하여 향후 실시간 이미징에 응용 가능하다
Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) images that are produced by terahertz (THz) irradiation are presented. It is possible to obtain 2D image of various materials by observing the amplitude and the phase of the THz signals which go through them. Better images are produced by combining the amplitude and phase of the signal rather than using only one of these. Homomorphic filtering that is one of the well-known technique of digital image signal processing is effective to reduce the noise signal and can provide better quality images. The results can be applied to real-time imaging afterwards.
