Abstract
In this paper, we provide the overview of current securitization capital markets hedging mortality-related risks and especially are dealing with longevity risk. Recently as life expectancy is increasing unpredictably, pension providers(including government) are even more exposed to the longevity risk than before. In this respect, we address the current crucial issues considering mortality-linked securities, especially survivor bond designed for managing the risk and also, we focus on the necessity and potential possibility of the development of the survivor-bond markets, even though these markets is currently at the starting stage and much more works need to be done, particularly in the light of bond pricing and valuation. Finally, we propose that the survivor bond need to be fully prepared by financial research institutes(eg, KIDI, KIF, KSRI) and issued by KDB with KDIC being as the controller.
