한국교회의 나아갈 길: 복음주의 기독교교육의 관점에서

선교 130년을 맞이한 한국교회는 지난 역사동안 놀라운 부흥의 역사를 체험 하기도 하였으나 금세기에 들어서는 침체와 쇠퇴의 길을 걸어가고 있다. 이 러한 위기의 시기에 한국교회가 어떤 길을 가야 할 것인가를 살펴보는 것은 매우 의미있는 일이다. 특히 이 논문에서는 기독교교육적인 관점에서 한국 교회가 나아가야 할 길을 살펴보고자 한다. 한국교회의 역사를 크게 조선 말 교회 시대, 일제강점기 시대, 해방한국 시대로 나누었다. 이러한 시대구분은 한국교회는 당시의 시대적, 정치적, 그리고 국가적인 사건들과 무관하지 않 음을 보여준다. 먼저 이 논문에서는 한국교회의 과거와 현재에 대한 논의를 함으로써 그러 한 논의에서 어떤 교훈을 얻으려고 한다. 우리가 한국교회의 과거로부터 얻 을 수 있는 교훈은 적극적인(positive) 교훈과 소극적인(negative) 교훈으로 나 누었다. 그리고 적극적인 교훈은 다시 교회적인 교훈과 개인적인 교훈으로 나 눈다. 먼저 한국교회가 과거의 역사로부터 얻는 교훈으로는 첫째, 앞으로 한국 교회는 교회교육을 강조해야 한다는 점이다. 곧 한국교회는 교육목회를 강조 해야 한다. 둘째로는, 기독교문화운동에 초점을 두어야 한다. 곧 성도들이 자 신들의 신앙을 삶에 적용시키는 교육을 해야 한다. 셋째로는, 영성운동 및 영 적 부흥운동을 실천해야 한다는 점이다. 이와 함께 교회지도자와 성도들의 개인적인 교훈으로는 첫째, 복음과 교회 그리고 성도에 대한 헌신, 열정, 사 랑을 회복하게 해야 한다. 둘째로는 은사를 개발하도록 강조해야 하며, 셋째 로는, 성경공부를 강화함으로써 교회의 건전성, 부흥, 활성화를 가져오게 해 야 하며 마지막으로는 한국교회의 최고의 미덕이요, 부흥의 요소인 기도를 회복하게 하는 것이다. 이러한 적극적인 교훈과 함께 과거로부터 얻을 수 있는 소극적인 교훈으 로는 첫째, 교역자들은 직업의식을 버림으로 다시 한번 순수한 열정을 가지 고 사역하게 해야 하고, 둘째로는, 사역의 목표를 물질적이고 세속적인 것에 서영적인것으로, 즉교인수, 예산, 건물의화려함과크기를추구하던것에 서 벗어나 성숙한 교회와 성도의 양육에 두며, 마지막으로는 경건훈련을 통 하여 경건 회복의 긴박성을 깨닫는 것이다. 침체하고 있는 한국교회가 다시 성장 동력을 갖도록 하기 위하여 교회교육의 측면에서 무엇을 어떻게 해야 하는지를 논의하였다.
Abstract
Korean church celebrating 130-year mission history had been experiencing the miraculous history of the revival but also has facing the depression in this century. In this period of criis, it is very meaningful to rethink which way Korean church should go forward. Particularly, in this paper, I would suggest the way Korean church go forward in light of Christian education. The history of Korean church can be divided into three period: the late Chosen church period, Japanese colonial period, and free Korea period. First of all, in this paper, I shall learn lessons from the past and present situations of Korean church. The lessons we learn from past and present situations can be divided into two: positive and negative lesson. And the positive lesson can be divided into two: ecclesiastical and personal. The ecclesiastical lessons we can get from the past are to emphasize church education, to focus on the Christian cultural movement, to practice the spiritual revival movements. The personal lessons are to restore the dedication, passion and love to the gospel, church and church members. and to develop gifts from God, and to reinforce the Bible study for the revitalization of church. Finally, to restore of prayer which is the essential element of church revivals. There are some negative lessons from the past: firstly, to restore purity and passion instead of professionalism of pastors, secondly, to shift the purpose of ministry to the spiritual from the secular, finally, to recognize the urgency of restring the piety through the spiritual practices. Through these lessons, Korean church can get the growth power from the present depression in light of Church education.
