최근 스포츠지도사 자격 제도의 개선 논의 과정에서 스포츠철학 및 윤리 과목의 스포츠지도자의 직무와 연관성을 부정하는 주장이 빈번하다. 이 주장은 스포츠지도사의 교육에 있어서 스포츠철학 및 윤리에 관한 무지 또는 오해에서 기인하며, 또한 이러한 문제 현실은 스포츠철학 연구자의 책무 소홀과 무관하다고 할 수 없다. 이에 본 연구는 스포츠지도사의 직무와 스포츠철학 간의 연관성을 확인시키고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 스포츠지도자의 교육에 있어 스포츠철학(및 윤리)의 위치 및 역할을 경험적 맥락과 논리적 맥락으로 고찰하였다. 1) 경험적 맥락에서, 첫째, 스포츠철학은 스포츠지도자에게 요구되는 학문적 소양의 핵심요소로서 현대 고등체육교육의 성립 이래 자리하여 왔다. 둘째, 스포츠철학(및 윤리) 혹은 코칭철학은 국내외 유수 스포츠지도자 교육 프로그램의 필수과목이다. 2) 논리적 맥락에서, 코칭철학은 단순히 경험 속에서 축적, 정립되는 개인적 철학에 제한되지 않는다. 바람직한 코치는 목표와 가치, 과정과 윤리를 합당하게 생각하고 결정하며 실천할 수 있는 능력으로서 철학적 개념과 사유의 힘이 요구된다. 따라서 스포츠철학(및 윤리)에 과목이 스포츠지도자 교육 프로그램에 포함되는 것은 당위적이다. 본 연구는 위와 같은 고찰 및 논의를 통해 스포츠지도사와 스포츠철학 간 직무연관성을 부정하는 주장은 경험적으로, 논리적으로 정당화될 수 없음을 밝혔다.
Abstract
Recently, some professors of kinesiology continue to deny the job relevance between sport coach and sport philosophy/ethics in Korea, although their position root on misunderstanding of role of sport philosophy/ethics in coach education. Thus, this paper is designed to recognize the job relevance between sport coach and sport philosophy/ethics and to reveal the misunderstanding of negative opinion, from experiential and logical background. The followings are discussed as the evidences: 1) philosophical understanding of physical activity is undergraduate core of kinesiology from the time of physical education disciplinary movement. 2) sport/coaching philosophy and ethics is a required course in the representative coach education or training programs. 3) the quality coaches must have strong and sound belief in meaning and values of sport coaching, based on philosophical concepts and theories, and ability to think the aim, objectives, contents, methods of sport coaching rationally. Finally, the denial opinions of the job relevance between sport coach and sport philosophy/ethics cannot justified for the rational evidences.
