Topic1: Theoretical Ethics in Sport, Topic2: Practical Sports Ethics, Topic3: Essence and Values of Sport, Topic4: Components of Sport, Topic5: Ethical Conflicts and Controversies in Sport, Topic6: Cultural and Technological Changes in Sport로 명명되었다.
Abstract
This study aims to systematically identify topic trends by conducting topic modeling analysis on the titles and abstracts of articles published in the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport (JPS). Recently, the sport field is facing complex and unpredictable changes driven by rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, big data, and science and technology. Within this context, the philosophy of sport is challenged to maintain its academic identity while offering new philosophical directions. To address this, the study collected and analyzed data from all articles published in JPS from its inaugural issued in 1974 to 2022. The optimal number of topics (K=6) was determined using Coherence Score analysis, and key topics were identified through Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and visualized using LDAvis. The resulting topics were labeled as follows: Topic1: Theoretical Ethics in Sport; Topic2: Practical Sports Ethics; Topic3: Essence and Values of Sport; Topic4: Components of Sport; Topic5: Ethical Conflicts and Controversies in Sport; Topic6: Cultural and Technological Changes in Sport. These findings offer a structural overview of past and present trends in the philosophy of sport and provide foundational insights for setting future research agendas.
