천태 교판론의 통합교육과정적 함의(1): 천태 교판의 형성과정과 교판 조직의 원리를 중심으로

본 연구는 천태 교판론의 통합교육과정적 함의를 살펴보고자 한 기획연구의 전반부에 해당한다. 본고는 중국 불교의 독창적 이론인 천태 교판론을 주된 논의의 장으로 삼고 있는데, 천태학은 중국 교학불교 시기 융성했던 불교의 종파이며, 교판론은 석존의 교설에 대한 판별과 분류에 관한 이론을 말한다. 본고의 논의는 천태의 교판론에 대한 교육학적 입론을 전제로 그 통합교육과정적 함의를 검토하고, 이로부터 제기되는 불교 교육론의 일면을 조명하고자 한다. 이를 위해 이하 본론에서 다루게 될 소개의 논제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 천태 및 천태 교판론의 불교사적 의의를 간략히 검토하고, 이로부터 천태 교판론이 갖는 통합교육과정 담론으로서의 성격을 규명하고자 한다. 둘째, 천태 교판론의 형성과정에서 지의가 제시한 당대 교판에 대한 비판 논리를 살펴봄으로써 천태 교판 조직의 원리를 검토하고자 한다. 마지막으로 앞선 논의에서 확인할 수 있는 천태 교판론의 통합교육과정적 시사를 특히 학습자를 중심으로 한 교육내용 조직 원리의 측면에서 살펴보고자 하며, 이후 결어를 통해 후속연구가 필수적으로 지향해야 할 몇 가지 사항에 대해 간략히 언급하고자 한다.
Abstract
This study aims to deal with the discussion of Ti’anTai(天台)-Gyophan(敎判), a unique theory of Chinese Buddhism, from a pedagogical point of view. Gyophan is the Critical Classification of The Buddha's Teaching. In particular, this study mainly examines the implications of the integrated curriculum. In order to conduct such research, the topics to be addressed under the main topic are as follows. First, I would like to briefly review the Buddhist historical significance of Ti’anTai(天台) and Ti’anTai(天台)-Gyophan(敎判), and from this, I would like to clarify its character as an integrated curriculum discourse. Second, I would like to examine the grounds and logic for criticizing the related theories that were popular at the same time, paying attention to the formation process of Ti’anTai(天台)-Gyophan(敎判). Through this, I would like to review the organizational principles of Ti’anTai(天台)-Gyophan(敎判). Finally, through the previous discussion, we would like to examine the implications of the integrated curriculum of Ti’anTai(天台)-Gyophan(敎判), and present future research tasks.
