초록

The Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) is a valuable resource for vaccine safety monitoring and research. This review aimed to provide a comprehensive over- view of all studies conducted using the VSD from its early years to the present, highlighting the contributions made by this resource to vaccine safety monitoring and the evolution of its focus over time. A total of 217 publications were included in this review, categorized as descriptive, analytic, database, and methodological studies. The influenza vaccine was the most studied vaccine in VSD research, followed by the MMR (+V) vaccine and the Hepatitis B vaccine. Infants were the most frequently studied population group, likely since many vaccines introduced into the National Immunization Program (NIP) are given to infants. The combination of different types of studies conducted using the VSD database highlights its significance as a valuable tool for vac- cine safety and surveillance research. The early years of the VSD were primarily focused on descriptive and analytic studies, with a shift towards more methodological and validation studies in recent years, which demonstrates the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation of vaccine safety, as well as improving the quality and validity of data generated by the VSD. Overall, this study is a comprehensive review of the VSD database and its potential application in the current context of vaccine development. Importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation of vaccine safety and under- scores the value of VSD as a tool for vaccine safety and surveillance research, especially in the current global pandemic context.
