초록

This study seeks to respond to the crisis of decline, such as the problem of population outflow in local industrial complexes, and to promote sustainable development. As a solution to this, it is proposed to reconceptualize the library as a multi-layered Innovation Platform for regional revitalization. To this end, this study first defines the library's innovation platform functions into four categories: 'knowledge mediation and diffusion', 'networking and cooperation', 'human capacity building and learning support', and 'improving cultural and settlement conditions'. In addition, the role of libraries by type of industrial complex classified according to the level of hardware and software infrastructure is examined. Next, implications for the library in the industrial complex to function as an innovation platform are obtained through the analysis of domestic and foreign library cases. Through these discussions, this study argues that libraries can be key facilities that convert production-oriented industrial complexes into innovative and settlement-friendly environments by performing multi-layered functions. Ultimately, this study aims to promote sustainable growth and respond to the crisis of regional extinction by suggesting policy measures such as mandating the installation of libraries in industrial complexes and developing pilot project models.
