Company selection of defense R&D projects is very important part of the defense acquisition process. Success or failure of defense R&D projects mostly depends on the company of developing the system, so we should select a company with high technologies and capabilities through a transparent process. This study proposed the method of evaluation index development and showed the results of the developed evaluation index by using the proposed method. The developed evaluation index were divided into 3 evaluation factors such as developing plan, developing management and developing capability. And those were composed of totally 14 evaluation index with its weight. The proposed method and developed evaluation index in this paper can be contributed to transparently company selection of defence R&D projects.
