Abstract
On the Two Issues of Donggyeong yongwonbu ofBalhae Yin, XuanzheThe kingdom of Balhae was founded in 698，fully three decadesafter the demise of Koguryo, and fell to the Khitans in 926. Du ringthe kingdom’ s existence for 229 years, 15 kings came and went andthere are five ‘gyong’, twelve ‘pu’and sixty-two ‘ju’in the wholecountry. Balhae was known as the ‘Prosperous State of East’(Haedongsungguk) at its peak prosperity and boasted of its sple ndiddevelopments to the world, thereby opening the civilized period inthe political, military, economic and cultural field. Unfortuna tely,Balhae left no historical materials for late ages and was cover ed witha layer of mysterious veil.
