Abstract
The great Tohoku-oki earthquake which occurred on March 11, 2011, caused crustal movements in both Korea and Japan. This study attempts to analyze the amount of coordinate shift of GPS reference stations on Korea Peninsula due to the Tohoku-oki earthquake and to compare the published coordinates by National Geographic Information Institute (NGII). As a result, we found that the average coordinate shift of South Korea is -0.8cm northward, 3.5cm eastward, and -4.0cm in vertical direction; when this figure is compared with the past crustal movements of the Korea Peninsula.
