생애사를 통해 본 장애인의 사회적 배제에 관한 연구 -세대의 영역별 배제 경험을 중심으로-

초록

본 연구의 목적은 생애사적 관점에서 장애인들이 경험하는 사회적 배제 현상을 심층적으로 이해하고 규명하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 생애사적 접근방법을 활용하였으며 풍부한 경험 포착과 세대 간의 차이를 살펴보고자 1950년대 생부터 1980년대 생 31명 장애인들의 실제적인 배제 경험을 분석하였다. 그 결과 우선, 참여자들은 복지정책, 노동, 교육, 건강관리 및 의료, 주거, 사회적 관계, 편견 등 다양한 영역에서 중첩된 배제 양상을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 노동, 교육, 복지서비스 영역에서 경험하는 배제 현상에 세대 간의 차이뿐만 아니라 극복전략 및 활용자원에도 세대 간의 다름이 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 장애인에 대한 사회적 배제를 극복하고 나아가 사회적 포함을 지향하는 정책적 실천적 함의를 제안하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand and examine deeply social exclusion experience of the disabled with biographical perspectives. For rich experiences, difference between each generation, their substantial experiences of social exclusion of 31 people with disabilities are analysed, who have chosen those from in 50s to in 80s using biographical method. The results is that firstly, it represents diverse dimensions of accumulated social exclusion such as welfare policy, labour, education, health management and medical service, housing, social relationships etc, through their experiences. In particular, it is analysed that there is a generational difference among labour, education and welfare service etc. In addition, it shows differences between strategies and resources for both generations of in 50, 60s and 70, 80s in handling and coping with this kinds of social phenomenon resulting from being a diverse society, economic, political, and culture conditions. On suggests policy and practical implications based on the results for social inclusion beyond making up social exclusion.
