빈곤가구의 심리적 디스트레스(Distress) 경험에 대한 질적 연구

본 연구는 빈곤가구가 경험하는 다양한 심리적 디스트레스를 깊이 있게 이해하기 위한질적 연구이다. 한국복지패널 질적연구에 참여한 응답자 중 저소득층 29가구의 녹취자료를 대상으로 주제 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 빈곤가구에서는 일상적 스트레스, 분노,미래 불안감, 우울, 자살충동, 자존감 저하, 고립, 가족갈등, 가족에 대한 죄책감 등 다양한 심리적 디스트레스를 경험하고 있었다. 하지만 디스트레스에 적극적으로 대처하지 못하였으며 주변으로부터 위안을 구하거나 스스로 마음을 다잡으며 견디고 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 빈곤가구에 대한 물질적 측면뿐만 아니라 심리 정서적 어려움에 대한 지원이 함께 이루어져야하며, 이를 위해 사례관리가 중요함을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This is a qualitative research to deeply understand various psychological distresses which poor households experienced. With the recorded material of 29 households in the low-income bracket among the respondents participating in the Korea Welfare Panel Qualitative Research, topic analysis was conducted. According to the analysis results, the poor households showed various distresses such as everyday life stress, anger, anxiety about the future, depression, and suicidal impulse, damage on self-esteem, isolation, family conflict. and guilty feeing for family. Financial difficulty worked as a crucial triggering factor. However, they cannot cope with it actively, and only take their heart with comfort from people around and religion. Through this study results, this paper suggests that it is needed to support the poor households for their psychological and emotional difficulties as well, and for this, case management is crucial.
