청소년의 흡연, 자아존중감, 적개심 및 우울과의 관련성 분석

초록

본 연구는 청소년의 일반적 특성, 문제 행동 특성 및 심리적 특성에 따른 흡연율을 파악하고, 나아가 청소년의 흡연 관련 주요 요인을 규명하고자 시도되었다. 이를 위해 청소년 1,260명을 대상으로 조사 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 청소년 흡연 행위에서 첫째, 조사대상 청소년의 16.7%가 흡연을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 흡연율은 일반적 특성에서 성별, 학교 유형 및 성적이, 문제 행동 특성에서 음주, 약물 복용 및 성경험이, 심리적 특성에서 적개심과 우울이 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 다음으로 흡연 관련 주요 요인을 로지스틱 회귀 모형을 통하여 도출한 결과, 성별, 학교 유형, 성적, 음주, 성경험 및 적개심이 의미 있는 요인으로 파악되었다. 이러한 결과는 청소년 흡연 행위를 포함한 문제 행동에 대한 동시적 예방 접근의 가능성을 시사해 주며, 이러한 예방 접근은 실업계 고등학교에 다니는 남학생들에게 더욱 중점을 두고, 지식 전달 위주의 접근보다 적개심 완화를 위한 방안으로 마련되어야 함을 강조한다.

Abstract

The aim of this study is 1) to identify smoking behaviors for adolescents, 2) to analyze factors in relation to smoking for adolescents. This study is a cross-sectional survey, and data were collected through self-report questionnaires. Subjects consisted of 1,260 adolescents who were students in three academic high schools and three vocational high schools in South Korea. Two hundred and eleven adolescents(16.7%) reported experiencing smoking during the past 1 week. Gender, school type, and grade of general characteristics for adolescents marked statistically significant difference between smoking group and non smoking group. Drinking, drug abuse, and sexual experience of problem behaviors for adolescents marked statistically significant difference between smoking group and non smoking group. Hostility and depression of psychological factors marked statistically significant difference between smoking group and non smoking group. The most important factors in relation to smoking for adolescents were gender, school type, grade, drinking, sexual experience, and hostility. In conclusion, the approach for an effective smoking prevention in a school health program for adolescents should consider gender, school type, grade, drinking, sexual experience, and hostility.
