학교상담자 윤리 교육 및 인지 실태 분석

초록

학교상담 서비스가 확대됨에 따라 학교상담자 윤리에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 학교상담자들이 윤리적인 상담을 수행할 수 있도록 학교상담자 윤리 교육을 적절하게 실시하기 위해서는 학교상담자들이 어느 정도 학교상담자 윤리 교육을 받았는지와 학교상담자 윤리를 알고 있는지에 대한 실태를 파악할 필요가 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 3개의 학교상담자들의 윤리 교육 실태를 묻는 문항과 21개의 윤리적 갈등 문제로 구성된 ‘학교상담자 윤리 인지에 관한 질문지’를 개발하여 학교상담자 283명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 잘 인지하고 있는 학교상담자 윤리 내용은 ‘심리검사’, ‘비밀보장의 예외’, ‘자격유지’, ‘전문직에 대한 책임’, ‘이중관계’, ‘아동학대’와 관련된 것이었다. 잘 인지하지 못하고 있는 내용은 ‘비밀보장과 그 한계에 대해 서면으로 알려줘야 한다’는 것과 ‘집단에서의 비밀보장’과 관련된 내용, 그리고 ‘비밀보장 원칙과 학부모의 권리 간 갈등’과 관련된 것이었다. 잘 인지하지 못하고 있는 내용들에 대해 연구대상의 직위별로 분석하였다. 이 연구는 학교상담자들의 윤리 교육 실태와 학교상담자들의 윤리 인지 실태를 밝힘으로써 학교상담자 윤리 교육과 수퍼비전에 기초가 될 수 있는 연구 결과를 제시한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 주요어 : 학교상담자, 윤리, 인지

Abstract

As school counseling services extend, the recognition of the importance of school counselors' ethical practice has been increased among school counselors and their educators. In order to ensure for school counselors to provide students with ethical counseling services and to enable counselor educators to perform education of ethics effectively in counseling and counselor training, it is necessary to examine the current states of how well school counselors are aware of code of ethics for school counselors. This study was conducted, therefore, to explore the current states of education of ethics for school counselors and their awareness of ethical issues. The Questionnaire for the School Counselors' Awareness of Ethical Issues, consisting of 21 questions on ethical dilemmas, was developed and administered to 283 school counselors in elementary and secondary schools over the country. As results, the respondents were turned out to be knowledgable and familiar with the ethical issues of ‘testing’, ‘exceptions of confidentiality’, ‘professionalism’, ‘contribution to the profession’, ‘dual relationships’, and ‘child abuse’. On the other hand, they disclosed difficulties in issues of ‘confidentiality’, ‘parents and confidentiality’, and ‘sharing information with other professionals’. Focusing on the ethical issues the respondents showed a bit of confusion, comparisons were conducted by their job positions and membership of Korean School Counseling Association. The results of this study would be beneficial to school counseling educators and supervisors in preparing training programs for school counselors.
