스트레스 지각과 부정정서와의 관계 -완벽주의와 인지적 평가의 매개 효과-

본 연구는 성취스트레스 상황과 관계 스트레스 상황에서의 스트레스 지각과 부정정서와의 관계를 살펴봄에 있어서 인지적 평가와 완벽주의가 어떠한 역할을 하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 남녀 중․고등학생 355명을 대상으로 하여 성취 및 관계 스트레스 지각과 부정정서와의 관계에서 인지적 평가와 완벽주의의 중재효과와 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 양 스트레스 상황 모두에서 스트레스지각, 도전지각, 위협지각, 개인적 기준 완벽주의, 실수에 대한 염려 완벽주의와 부정정서 간에 정적 상관을 나타내었는데, 관계스트레스 상황에서는 완벽주의 차원 가운데 개인적 기준 완벽주의가 실수에 대한 염려 완벽주의보다 부정정서와 더 밀접하게 관련되었다. 둘째, 관계 스트레스 상황에서의 스트레스 지각과 부정정서와의 관계에서 인지적 평가의 조절효과가 확인되었다. 셋째, 성취스트레스 상황에서의 스트레스지각과 부정정서의 관계에서 인지적 평가와 완벽주의의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과, 개인적 기준 완벽주의와 실수에 대한 염려 완벽주의의 매개효과를 발견할 수 있었고 인지적 평가의 매개효과 또한 부분적으로 발견할 수 있었다. 관계스트레스 상황에서의 스트레스지각과 부정정서와 관계에서 인지적 평가와 완벽주의의 매개효과를 살펴본 결과, 개인적 기준 완벽주의의 매개효과를 발견할 수 있었고 인지적 평가의 매개효과를 발견할 수 있었다. 이는 스트레스 지각이 부정정서를 유발시키는 데 있어서 완벽주의와 인지적 평가의 역할이 중요함을 확인시켜 준 것이다. 주요어 : 스트레스지각, 부정정서, 완벽주의, 인지적 평가

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate how cognitive appraisal and perfectionism affect the relationship between stress perception and negative emotion. More specifically, this study examined the moderating and mediating effects of cognitive appraisal and perfectionism on the relation of stress perception to negative emotion among 355 middle and high school students. The major results are as follows. First, stress perception, cognitive appraisal, and perfectionism were positively correlated with negative emotion in achievement-related and relationship-related stress events. Furthermore, personal standards perfectionism, compared to concern over mistakes, was more closely related to negative emotion in relationship-related stress events. Second, cognitive appraisal moderated the relation between stress perception and negative emotion in relationship-related stress events. Third, the relationship between stress perception and negative emotion in achievement-related stress events was mediated by personal standards, concern over mistakes, and cognitive appraisal. Also, personal standards perfectionism and cognitive appraisal mediated the relation between stress perception and negative emotion in relationship-related stress event. These results suggest that perfectionism and cognitive appraisal play an important role in the relation of stress perception to negative emotion.
