본 연구는 개인내적 특성으로서의 자기통제력이 스트레스 상황을 지각하는 수준과 스트레스에 대한 대처방식과 어떤 관련이 있는지 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 충남권 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 301명이다. 연구결과 첫째 자기통제력은 스트레스와 유의미한 정적 상관이 있었으며, 단계적 중다회귀분석 결과 자기통제력이 스트레스 지각의 변량을 어느 정도 설명하는 것으로 보아 자기통제력이 낮을수록, 스트레스를 많이 지각하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기통제력은 스트레스 대처방식 중 적극적 대처방식의 사회적 지지추구와 소극적 대처방식의 정서적 대처와 소망적 대처에서 유의한 상관이 나타났으며, 적극적 대처방식 중 문제중심적 대처와는 상관이 없었다. 또한 회귀분석 결과 자기통제력의 하위요인이 스트레스 대처의 하위 방식 각각의 변량을 유의미하게 설명함을 나타냈다. 이는 자기통제력이 스트레스 상황을 지각하고 스트레스 상황에 대처하는데 영향을 미치는 변인으로 작용하고 있음을 보여준다. 이를 통해 대학생 내담자들이 호소하는 스트레스 문제에 접근하고, 개입을 하는데 있어 함의를 제시하였고, 추후 연구에서 밝혀야 할 내용에 대하여 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the relationship among self-control, stress perception, and coping style of the university students. The subjects are 301 university students in ChungNam area. First, self-control has positive correlation with stress perception significantly. In addition, stepwise multiple regression indicates self- control variance to predict stress perception(8%). Thus, the above results show that as to lower level of self -control, the level of stress perception is higher. Second, each sub-factor of self-control had positive correlation with sub-factor of stress coping style, social support of active stress coping and passive stress coping. In addition, stepwise multiple regression indicates self-control variance to predict each sub-factor of stress coping style. These results imply that self-control significantly is related with stress perception and coping style. Thereby counselors need to consider the approach with regard to of university student clients the stress problem and alternative intervention. The implications and directions of this thesis propose self-control and stress problem.
