심리적 독립성, 의존부정성향, 자기성장주도성에 따른 하위집단별 대학생활적응과 스트레스 대처전략의 차이

본 연구는 대학생 396명(남: 180명, 여 216명)을 대상으로 심리적 독립성, 의존부정성향, 자기성장주도성에 따른 하위집단을 탐색하고 각 하위집단별로 대학생활적응과 스트레스 대처전략에서 어떤 차이를 보이는지 파악하고자 하였다. 심리적 독립성과 의존부정성향, 자기성장주도성에 따른 하위집단을 탐색한 결과, 군집변인의 점수 조합에 따라 차별적 특성을 지닌 하위집단 유형(독립 미발달형, 주도적 독립형, 관계거부적 독립형)이 존재하였으며 각 집단별로 대학생활적응과 스트레스 대처전략에 차이가 나타났다. 주도적 독립형은 세 유형 중 대학생활적응 수준과 문제해결중심 대처전략 수준이 가장 높았다. 관계거부적 독립형과 독립 미발달형은 대학생활적응 수준에는 차이가 없었지만 스트레스 대처전략에서 차이를 보였는데 관계거부적 독립형은 회피중심 대처전략 수준이 높았고, 독립 미발달형은 사회적 지지추구 대처전략 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 본 연구에 참가한 대학생 집단이 동질적이지 않으며 심리적 독립성, 의존부정성향, 자기성장주도성이 대학생활적응 및 스트레스 대처전략의 차이를 설명할 수 있는 주요 변인이라는 점을 시사한다. 추가적으로 세 하위집단(독립 미발달형, 주도적 독립형, 관계거부적 독립형)이 다른 표본을 대상으로 분석하였을 때도 동일하게 나타남으로써 하위집단의 교차타당성이 확보되었다.
Abstract
This study examined subgroups using psychological separation, dependence denial, and personal growth initiative and confirmed the differences in college student adapation and coping strategy of the subgroups. As a result of clustering analysis, there were three subgroup types(undeveloped independence type, initiative independence type, relational-rejecting independence type), having differentiated feature based on score combination of clustering variables. Initiative independence type had the highest standard in college student adaptation and problem solving coping strategy. While relational-rejecting independence type and undeveloped independence type did not show a difference in standard of college student adaptation, there was a difference between coping strategy. It suggests that college students groups participating in this study were not homogeneous and psychological separation, dependence, personal growth initiative are primary variables which can explain the differences between college student adaptation and coping strategy. Moreover, since it raised the effectiveness in applying the study result by confirming cross validity of subgroup types, the implication on pattern of each group and adaptation standard became more stable.
