귀국 대학생과 일반 대학생의 사회적 지지가심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향: 회복탄력성의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 해외 거주 경험이 있는 귀국 대학생과 일반 대학생 간의 심리적 차이를 알아보기 위해, 귀국 대학생과 일반 대학생 간의 사회적 지지, 심리적 안녕감, 회복 탄력성의 차이 및 사회적 지지와 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 회복 탄력성이 미치는 매개효과를 분석하였다. 연구를 위해 서울과 포항 소재 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 학생 407명의 설문자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 귀국 대학생과 일반 대학생을 구분하여 자료를 수집하였는데, 귀국 대학생은 만 18세 이전의 성장기에 1년 이상을 해외에서 거주한 후 대학 입학을 위해 국내로 다시 귀국한 학생들을 의미한다. 연구결과 첫째, 귀국 대학생이 일반 대학생에 비해 사회적 지지의 하위요인인 가족지지와 교사지지, 회복 탄력성의 하위 요인인 통제성과 긍정성, 심리적 안녕감의 하위요인인 자율성이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 사회적 지지와 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 회복 탄력성이 미치는 매개효과를 분석하였을 때, 귀국 대학생은 친구지지, 가족지지와 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 회복 탄력성이 유의미한 완전매개효과를 보였으며, 반면 일반 대학생의 경우 친구지지와 심리적 안녕감 간의 관계에서 회복 탄력성이 유의미한 부분 매개효과를 나타냈다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 상담에 적용될 수 있는 구체적인 논의점을 제안하였다.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the difference between returnee college students and general college students in the aspects of social support, psychological well-being, and resilience, as well as the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between social support and psychological well-being. The participants in this study were 407 college students in Seoul and Pohang. The data was collected separately from both groups, defining returnee students as students who have lived abroad for at least one year of their growth period before the age of 18 (international age) and have returned for higher education. As the first research result, returnee students marked a significantly higher rate in family and teacher support, the sub factor of social support; in controllability and positive attitude, the sub factor of resilience; and in autonomy, the sub factor of psychological well-being. Second, when analyzing the impact of resilience as a mediator between social support and psychological well-being, it was found to have complete mediating effect for the returnee students concerning the relationship of peer support and family support with psychological well-being, and showed partial mediating effect concerning the relationship of teacher support with psychological well-being. On the other hand, for the general students, resilience showed partial mediating effect in the relationship of peer support and teacher support with psychological well-being. Some suggestions were made for counseling returnee students based on the results.
