학교상담 관련 주체의 입장에 따른 상담자의 비밀보장 예외 판단 차이 분석

초록

본 연구는 비밀보장 갈등 상황에서 학교상담 관련 주체의 입장에 따라서 학교상담자의 윤리적 판단이 어떻게 달라지는지를 탐색하고 그 차이를 분석하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 경기 지역의 중․고등학교 및 교육청(Wee Center)에 재직 중인 전문상담교사 137명을 대상으로 자료 수집을 하였다. 연구 대상은 입장 서술이 다른 세 종류의 질문지를 무선 배분하여 그 중 어느 질문지를 읽고 응답하였느냐에 따라 내담자 입장 집단, 학부모 및 교사 입장 집단, 통제 집단으로 구분하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS 17.0을 사용하여 일원변량분석 및 빈도분석, 백분율을 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 관련 주체의 입장에 따라서 상담자의 윤리적 판단에 차이가 있었다. 즉 내담자의 입장을 강조할 때 상담자는 좀 더 비밀을 보장하려는 판단을 하며, 학부모 및 교사의 입장을 강조할 때 좀 더 비밀을 공개하려는 판단을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 관련 주체의 입장에 따라서 상담자의 비밀공개 대상에 차이가 있었다. 학교폭력의 경우 주로 담임교사에게 공개하겠다는 반응이 많은 반면, 성문제의 경우 담임교사보다는 학부모에게 공개하겠다는 반응이 가장 많았다. 본 연구는 비밀보장 갈등 상황에서 학교상담자가 어느 입장을 주로 고려하느냐에 따라 비밀보장 예외 판단이 달라질 수 있다는 사실을 보여줌으로써 상담자의 비밀보장 예외 판단이 유동적으로 변화될 수 있음을 경험적으로 밝혀냈다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이는 향후 학교상담자 윤리교육에 있어 다양한 입장이 반영된 사례를 활용해야할 필요성을 시사한다.

Abstract

This research aims to study on how stakeholder's stance related to school counseling affects on the ethical judgements and to analyze the difference among them. The 137 school counselors who works at middle schools, high schools and educational offices(Wee Center) in Gyeonggi Province were subjected to the survey. They were randomly given questionnaires and divided into three groups(client-oriented group, parent and teacher-oriented group, and control group) according to what questionnaires they were given. One-way analysis of variance, frequency analysis, and the percentage were conducted to analyze the collected data using the SPSS 17.0. The results of this research are as follows: firstly, there was difference in the ethical judgements, according to the stakeholder's stance. That is, it was identified that the counselors tend to make decisions fostering the confidentiality when he or she puts more importance on the clients’ position, whereas those who puts more importance on the parent and teacher’s position tend to make decisions disclosing the information. Secondly, the stakeholder's stance affected to the subjects to whom the counselors disclosed the information. In case of school violence, the counselors responded to disclose the information to the teachers, whereas they had propensity to notify it to the parents in case of sexual problem. This study has significance in empirically identifying the fact that counselors’ judgement can be flexibly different, by showing counselors’ ethical stance affects confidentiality exception judgement. This provides needs and lessons of utilizing cases reflecting diverse stance in ethical education of school counselors.
