대학생 집단에서 눈치와 사회불안의 관계 -자기개념명확성의 매개효과-

본 연구에서는 한국문화의 특징으로 알려져 있는 눈치가 사회불안을 감소시킬 수 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 매개변인으로 자기개념명확성을 가정하였고 눈치가 자기개념명확성을 매개로 사회불안에 영향을 미치는지 검증하고자 하였다. 자료는 대학생 583명(남 227명, 여 356명)에게 설문을 실시하여 수집하였고 부트스트랩핑으로 매개효과를 검증하였다. 결과를 보면 눈치의 하위요인 가운데 파악요인은 사회불안에 직접 영향을 미치기도 하고 자기개념명확성을 매개로 사회불안에 영향을 미치기도 하였으나 행동요인은 자기개념명확성을 매개로 해서만 사회불안에 영향을 미치고 직접 영향을 미치지는 않았다. 이 결과는 눈치가 사회불안을 감소시키는 기제가 왜곡된 인지와 부정적이 자기상이 활성화되지 않도록 하는 것임을 시사하였다. 이 결과에 대해 논의하였다.

Abstract

Nunch has been known as one of the characteristics of Korean culture. The aim of this study was to investigate whether nuchi could reduce the social anxiety. It was hypothesized that nuchi would affect social anxiety in the mediation of self concept clarity, which was tested by structural equation modeling(SEM). Data was collected from 583 college students(male 227, female 356), and analyzed by bootstrapping. Results revealed that the perception factor(one subscale of the nuchi scale) affected social anxiety directly and in the mediation of self concept clarity, however the action factor(the other subscale of the nunchi scale) predicted social anxiety only in the mediation of self concept clarity. These results suggested that nunchi inhibited the activation of the distorted schema and the negative self concept. Results were discussed.
