애착외상 생존자의 자기표상과 정서경험에 대한협력적 자문화기술지

본 연구는 애착외상을 경험한 연구자의 개인적인 경험을 내부자적 관점에서 기술함과 동시에 어린 시절 아버지의 가정폭력으로 형성된 자기표상과 정서 고통을 경험한 애착외상 생존자의 삶을 이해하고자 하였다. 따라서 연구자의 정서경험과 신체반응에 초점을 두어 그 의미를 해석함으로써 자기 성찰을 이끌어 내는 질적 연구방법인 ‘정서기반 자문화기술지’를 둘 이상의 연구자가 공동 협력하여 기술하는 방식인 ‘협력적 자문화기술지’로 적용하였다. 아울러 연구자의 삶을 시간적 흐름에 따라 살펴보는 종단적 코딩기법을 중심으로 타당도와 신뢰도를 높이기 위해 삼각검증(Triangulation)으로 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째 ‘폭력에 물든 나’를 통해 폭력에 압도되어 공포감, 만성화된 긴장감과 불안감, 신체화와 반복된 악몽에 시달려 지독한 절망감과 무력감에 빠졌다. 둘째, ‘형편없이 초라한 나’를 통해 애착외상 경험으로 형편없고 초라하여 인정받을 수 없는 부정적인 자기표상이 형성되었다. 셋째, ‘고통에 함몰된 나’를 통해 정서적 박탈감을 경험하여 외로움과 고립감, 공허감, 상실감을 느꼈고, 자립의 기회를 버리고 아버지에게로 돌아간 어머니로 인해 분노하고 비통한 정서고통에 함몰되었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 애착외상 생존자들의 고통을 이해하고 변화와 회복에 이를 수 있도록 치료적 대안을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to describe the author’s individual experience of attachment trauma from an insider’s point of view and also to understand the life of attachment trauma survivors who experienced self-representation and emotional distress from their fathers’ family violence during childhood. By interpreting the meaning of the emotional experience by focusing on the emotional experience and the physical reactions of the researcher, the author applied ‘Emotion-based Autoethnography’ which is a qualitative research method that leads to self-reflection, as ‘Collaborative Autoethnography’ which is a way to cooperate and describe two or more researchers. In addition, triangulation was conducted to increase the reliability and validity by longitudinal coding to closely examine the author’s life by the passage of time. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the author was overwhelmed by the violence through the ‘I was tortured by violence’, and the author was in a terrible sense of despair and helplessness because of fear, chronic tension and anxiety, somatization and repeated nightmares. Second, ‘terribly shabby me’ formed to a negative self-representation that can not be accepted because it is terrible and shabby due to the experience of attachment trauma. Third, the author experienced feelings of loneliness, isolation, emptiness, and loss by experiencing emotional deprivation through ‘Me Who Is Stuck in Distress’. the author was depressed by the painful and gruesome emotional pain caused by the author's mother who had abandoned her chance of independence and returned to the author's father. Based on the results of this study, therapeutic alternatives to achieve change and recovery and to understand the pain of attachment trauma survivors were suggested.
