Abstract
In this study, we investigated the phosphorus removal using oyster shell and the ammonia removal using zeolite. Following results were obtained in this study. The removed amount of phosphorus using raw, thermal pre-treatment of oyster shell at 550oC, and at 800oC were 4.1 mg/g, 6.0 mg/g, and 47.0 mg/g, respectively. Freundlich equations for oyster shell and zeolite were X/M = 0.000159 Ce1.051 and X/M = 0.000159Ce1.4237. We performed the same experiment to activated sludge batch reactor to evaluate the effectiveness of oyster shell and zeolite powder in activated sludge process. The highest settling rate and the best removal efficiency of TP with the oyster shell reactor were obtaind. The zeolite added reactor was the most effective in the removal of T-N
