Abstract
This paper presents findings from long-term monitoring studies performed at full-scale municipal solid waste landfill, Nanzi-do. Nanzi landfill had 31 storage monitoring wells and 30 outiside wells. The concentration of major pollutants which include pH, SS, amoniacal-nitrate, BOD, COD, heavy metals and so forth were determined in leachate obtained from storage wells and outside wells from 2003 to 2008. Selected important relationships between these parameters were defined and statistical evaluation of the results has been performed. Almost parameters examined leachates which were collected in storage wells showed higher values than those in outside wells. The mean COD values ranged 101.7~275.2 mg/L and the mean value of BOD/COD ratio was approx. 1.5.
