초록

To observe the changes in composition due to freezing and thawing of bottled water, the concentrations of inorganic substances, turbidity, total organic carbon (TOC), and antimony in 15 domestically distributed products were measured. The inorganic substance content before freezing was generally within the range specified by the manufacturer. Differences in inorganic substance content before and after freezing were observed, following the order of silicon > calcium > magnesium > sodium > potassium. Notably, silicon and calcium, with differing inorganic substance contents, were visually identified as white crystals during the thawing process, which was judged to be linked to an increase in turbidity. All products exhibited increased turbidity, with some showing above-average turbidity levels. Products with elevated turbidity generally contained more calcium and silicon with concentrations exceeding 24.5 and 18 ㎎/L, respectively. Considering the average data for adults (males aged 19-29 years) regarding actual drinking water, the maximum amount of inorganic substances in a bottle of drinking water is 10.01% of the recommended daily intake. This indicates that relying solely on bottled water to meet daily nutrient requirements is insufficient, highlighting the importance of obtaining essential minerals through food sources.
