장서각 소장『鮮音』은 1책 필사본 시선집으로 유일본으로 추정된다. ‘鮮音’이라는 題名은 ‘唐音’에서 유래한 명칭으로 판단된다. 아마도 ‘唐音’이란 명칭을 본떠 朝鮮의 한시 중 ‘正音’에 해당되는 것을 뽑았다는 뜻으로 ‘鮮音’이라 제명한 것이 아닌가 한다. 1책 42장의 간략한 분량 속에는 李明五(53수)·金正喜(17수)·申緯(66수)·丁學淵(145수)의 순으로 네 사람의 시 총 281수가 수록되어 있다. 몇 가지 정황으로 미루어 볼 때 『鮮音』의 편자는 이명오의 아들 李晩用으로 추정되며, 편찬 시기는 1843년 이후임이 확인된다. 18세기 후반에서 19세기에 이르는 조선조 말엽에 청나라와의 교류가 활발해지는 상황에서『韓客巾衍集』(1777년, 柳琹 편찬)·『선음』(1843년 이후)·『韓四客詩選』(1874년, 姜瑋 편찬)의 편찬이 이어지고 있는 바, 이들은 모두 4인의 시를 선발 수록하고 있는 공통점을 지니고 있다. 『선음』은 이러한 흐름 속에서 출현하게 된 것으로 여겨진다. 『鮮音』에는 학계에 알려지지 않은 정학연의 시 109수가 수록되어 있어 주목을 요한다. 이들 연작시는 저자가 노년에 마현에 은거하면서 가을의 경물에 빗대어 인생의 황혼기에 느끼게 되는 여러 상념을 담담한 필치로 노래한 것이다. 여기에서는 이들 가을 연작시의 특징적 면모를 정서의 표출 양상에 따라 1)마현의 가을 풍광과 갈대꽃, 2)여성 정조와 민간의 정서, 3)가을의 고독감과 그리움의 정서의 세 가지로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 정학연의 가을 연작시는 본연의 정감을 자유롭게 유출함을 중시하는 성령파적 지향을 드러내고 있는 것으로 파악된다.
Abstract
Seoneum(鮮音; The Sounds of Joseon) in the Jangseogak Library of the Academy of Korean Studies is a handwritten poetic anthology in one volume, which is presumed to be the only version on the same contents. The meaning of "Seoneum" is thought to be orthodox poems of the Joseon dynasty, which could derive its title from the Tangeum(唐音; Ch. Tangyin) in Tang China. This forty two-leaf book consists of 281 poems of four poets in the order of Yi Myeong-o(53 works), Kim Jeong-hi(17works), Sin Wi(66 works), and Jeong Hak-yeon(145 works). In terms of the compilation structure which deals with four poets, this anthology shared the trend with others such as Han-gaek geonyeonjip (in 1777 by Yu Ryeon) and Hansagaek siseon (in 1874 by Gang Wi) in the late 18th and early 19th century when there were active cultural exchanges between Joseon and Qing China. Seoneum is also thought to be edited by Yi Myeong-o's son, Manyong, after the year of 1843. Above all, 109 poems by Jeong Hak-yeon are worthy of notice because they have not been known to academia. Most of his works in this anthology consist of serial poems on autumn that were evoked by natural scenery in his home town, Mahyeon, Gyeonggi province. His poems also reflect his life in old age. This article examines Jeong's serial poems on autumn, focusing on three main points in terms of his expression of emotion: reeds and the scenery of autumn in Mahyeon, female sentiments and folk feelings, and loneliness in autumn and nostalgia. Jeong's poems eventually reveal natural expression of the poet's emotion, which was influenced by the Xingling group of China in those days.
