K-RCAS (Korean Revised Caregiving Appraisal Scale), K-WHOQOL-BREF (Korean version of World Health Organization Quality of Life assessment instrument-BREF)를 사용하였다.
Abstract
Objective : This study examined the impact of educational program for caregivers on dysphagia knowledge, burden, and quality of life. Methods : Twenty-eight caregivers of patients admitted to D hospital receiving dysphagia treatment participated. The program was conducted once a week for 8 weeks, 30 minutes per session, a total of 8 sessions. Based on previous studies, it divided into four theoretical and four counseling sessions. To confirm the effectiveness of the intervention, it were used that dysphagia knowledge, K-RCAS, K-WHOQOL-BREF. It were measured before, at four weeks, and after eight weeks. Data analysis included descriptive statistic, Repeated ANOVA, and Bonferroni post-hoc test. Results : There were significant improvements in total score of dysphagia knowledge, K-RCAS, K-WHOQOL-BREF before, 4 weeks after, 8 weeks after intervention. Also, there was also significant difference changes in subscales of each evaluation. Conclusion : It was confirmed that educational program had a positive effect on the caregiver’s knowledge, burden, and quality of life. The program’s usefulness in clinical and community fileds is anticipated.
