제20대 대통령선거의 표심 분석: 신문기사의 의미연결망을 중심으로

초록

본 논문은 20대 대통령선거의 표심에 영향을 미친 전략이 있었다는 관점에서 언론은 어떻게 대통령선거에 대해 보도하고 논의하였는지 분석하고자 빅데이터 분석 방법을 이용하였다. 한국의 선거에서는 다양한 선거 전략으로 보수와 진보 대통령이 선출되었는데 지역분할 전략과 세대투표가 주를 이뤘다. 하지만 2021년 치러진 총선부터는 이러한 전략에 젠더 갈등과 혐오가 심화되어 ‘안티 페미니즘’과 ‘페미니즘’ 전략이 사용되었다. 따라서 기존 연구와 달리 새로운 전략이 사용되었다는 점을 고려했을 때, 대통령선거에 관한 신문기사 보도에서는 새로운 젠더 전략을 어떻게 프레이밍하고 보도하였으며 공중에게 여론을 형성하였는지 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 기존의 연구들과는 달리 내용분석 연구에서 확장된 신문기사 속 키워드 도출, 키워드 연결관계 분석을 중심으로 2021년 총선부터 20대 대통령선거에서 새롭게 나타난 ‘젠더 갈등’ 전략을 구별하여 보도의 논의 유형 규명을 통해 한국의 젠더 갈등을 해결하는 기초자료를 제공했다는 점에 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study is understood as a big data analysis method to analyze how the media reported and discussed the presidential election from the viewpoint of having a strategy that influenced the votes cast in the 20th presidential election. In Korea’s election, conservative and liberal presidents were elected with various election strategies, mainly regionalist divisionist strategies and generational voting. However, from the 2021 general election, gender conflicts and disgust intensified in these strategies, and “anti-feminism” and “feminism” strategies were used. Therefore, considering that a new strategy was used unlike previous studies, it is necessary to examine how the new gender strategy was framed and reported in newspaper reports on the presidential election, and how public opinion was formed in public. In addition, there is a growing need to resolve sharp gender conflicts by analyzing major sub-issues qualitatively as to how these strategies affected the election results. Unlike previous studies, this paper is meaningful in that it provides basic data to resolve gender conflicts in Korea by distinguishing the new ‘gender conflict’ strategy from the 2021 general election to the 20th presidential election, focusing on deriving keywords in newspaper articles expanded in content analysis studies.
