Abstract
[INTRODUCTION] This study was to analyze on sports injuries by positions in baseball players. [METHOD] All subjects were received exercise rehabilitation for treatment of their injuries and The data collected during June 2001-May 2010. 595 baseball players were included. The subjects was divided into 3 groups(G1:Pitchers, G2:Infielders, G3:Outfielders). [RESULT] The results demonstrated that elbow injuries was 50.4% and shoulder injuries were 28.1%. especially, In MRI diagnosis of injuries, Ulnar collateral ligament(UCL) injury was most frequent(28.1%), and followed SLAP Lesion(14.8%), capitellum OCD(13.6%), shoulder impingement(9.1%), and low back pain(5.7%). The injuries of the baseball players by position were significantly higher pitcher than other position players. Pitchers had most injuried on UCL tear(36.2%) and Infielder players had most injuried on capitellum OCD(21.6%), and then outfielder players had most injuried on UCL tear(21.2%). Elbow joint injuries was decreased as increasing age and Shoulder joint injuries was increased with increasing age. [CONCLUSION] It concluded baseball players had the most injuried on UCL tear and In-fielder player had injuried more frequently on capitellum OCD than UCL tear. Also, Pitcher and Out-fielder had injuried the most on UCL tear. Knee joint injuried was gradually decreased, and back pain had the most injuries in high-school period among grades.
