이번 특집에서는 다양한 폐쇄성수면무호흡증 환자에서 의 양압기 치료에 대한 종설들을 준비하였다. 그 첫번째로 최근 급증하고 있는 노인 폐쇄성수면무호흡증 환자의 임상 적 특징을 알아보고, 효과적인 양압기 치료 전략을 소개하려 한다. 두번째로 만성폐쇄성폐질환(chronic obstructive pul¬monary disease, COPD)을 포함한 호흡기 기도질환을 같이 가지고 있는 폐쇄성수면무호흡증 환자의 특징과 양압기 사용에 관하여 다룰 것이다. 마지막으로, 소아에서의 양압기 치료와 관련한 전반적인 내용을 소개하여 소아 폐쇄성수면 무호흡증 환자에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다.
Abstract
In this special issue, we present a series of reviews of positive airway pressure therapy in a variety of obstructive sleep apnea patient populations. First, we describe the clinical characteristics of the increasingly common geriatric obstructive sleep apnea population and present effective strategies for positive airway pressure therapy. Second, we will discuss the characteristics and use of positive airway pressure in obstructive sleep apnea patients with coexisting respiratory airway disease, including chronic obstructive pul¬monary disease (COPD). Finally, an overview of positive airway pressure therapy in children will be presented to provide a better understanding of the pediatric obstructive sleep apnea population.
