기독교상담은 상담자의 신학적, 심리학적 배경에 따라서 그 성향이 다르며, 기독교상담의 성향을 결정짓는 요인도 다양하다. 본 연구에서는 기독교상담의 성향을 결정하는 요인 가운데 하나로 상담자의 심리학에 대한 개방성으로 보 았다. 본 연구자는 기독교상담자의 심리학 개방성에 따라 기독교상담의 유형을 다음과 같이 다섯 가지 유형으로 분류했다. 첫째, 개방유형이다. 이는 상담자가 심리학에 대해서 열린 자세를 취하기 때 문에 기독교상담에서 성경이나 신학적인 자료를 활용하는 데는 관심이 없다. 심리학을 신뢰한다는 측면에서 인본주의적이며, 기독교상담이라고 하기에는 무리가 있다. 둘째, 수용유형이다. 이는 상담자가 심리학을 받아들이되 기독교 상담에서 성경신학적인 원리를 무시하지 않는다. 그러나 성경신학적인 면보다 는 심리학에 대해서 좀더 선호하는 경향이 있으나, 개방유형보다는 보수적이 다. 셋째, 분리유형이다. 이는 기독교상담에서 신학의 영역과 심리학의 영역을 분리하고, 이 두 가지 측면을 동등하게 여기는 입장이다. 이러한 입장은 신학 과 심리학의 공통영역을 어떻게 해결해야 할 것인가에 대한 문제에 대해서 모 호하다. 넷째, 여과유형이다. 이는 성경신학적인 입장에서 심리학을 검증하여, 활용 가능한 심리학적 결과만을 기독교상담에서 활용한다. 이러한 입장은 대부 분의 복음주의적 견해로써, 다양한 일반심리학을 어떻게 검증할 것인가의 문제 가 과제로 남는다. 다섯째, 폐쇄유형이다. 이는 성경만으로 내담자의 모든 문제 를 충분히 해결할 수 있다고 보기 때문에 굳이 심리학의 도움을 필요로 하지 않는다. 그렇기 때문에 심리학에 대해서 닫힌 자세를 취하는데, 일반은총으로 써의 심리학을 거부하는 약점이 있다. 이상의 내용을 종합해 볼 때 기독교상담자의 심리학 개방성은 상담자의 신 학적 성향과 상호연관성이 있다. 즉 기독교상담자가 신학적으로 진보적일수록 심리학에 대해서 개방적이며, 보수적일수록 심리학에 대해서 폐쇄적인 견해를 보인다. 결론적으로 복음주의 입장의 기독교상담은 심리학을 신학적인 검증을 거쳐서 활용해야하며, 무조건적으로 거부해서는 안 된다고 본다. 복음주의적 기독교상담자는 발견된 진리로써의 심리학을 잘 활용할 뿐만 아니라, 신학과 심리학의 효율적인 통합을 위해서 지속적인 연구활동을 해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This researcher is to clarify that Christian counseling varies according to counselor’s theological & psychological background. This researcher presumed that openness of psychology is a major factor that represents the tendency of Christian Counseling. Results from this research are as follows: Counselor’s psychological openness is one of the important factors which decides Christian Counseling tendency. Tendency of Christian Counseling in accordance with openness of psychology of Christian Counsellor was classified into 5 types. First, opened type. Christian Counsellor makes best use of reference materials for psychology in counseling, and adopts very open posture to psychology. And they are unconcerned with using the Bible & the theological resources. Second, accepted type. This is a standpoint not to lose an identity of Christian Counseling, whilst admitting psychology. But, They take a little more conservative posture than opened type. Third, separated type. They hold a position to separate the area of expertise, whilst they approve theology and the authority of psychology on equal term. Fourth, filtered type. They use the topics that would not turn out to be the problem connected with Bible after having filtered psychology by means of theology. Evangelical Counselors take this type. Fifth, closed type. They adopt a closed posture toward psychology. They don’’t need psychological assistance any more, because they believe that only the Bible can solves counselee’s problem enough. Taken above research results together, Christian Counsellors should know their own tendency toward theology, and openness of psychology. In Conclusion, The evangelical view of Christian counseling is to use the psychological resources filtered theologically, not reject it unconditionally. Also, when conducting counseling having established counseling skills based on such a type they will be able to provide for efficient helps to clients.
