좌옹(佐翁) 윤치호 (尹致昊)의 “그리스도는 누구뇨”(1921) 분석 및 개혁주의생명신학 관점에서의 함의

이 연구는 일제 문화정치 초엽에 좌옹(佐翁) 윤치호 (尹致昊)가작성한 설교문 “그리스도는 누구뇨”를 개혁주의생명신학 관점에서 분석함으로써 그의 신앙고백을 고찰하려는 데 목적을 두었다. 그는 마태복음 16장 16절에 기록된 “시몬 베드로 對答야 主는 그리스도시오 살아계신 하님의 아이시니이다”이말씀을 본문으로 설정했으며, 설교문은 1921년 9월에 간행된 『百牧講演(第一集)』 (Sermons by One Hundred Pastors & TeachersVol. 1)에 게재되었다. 윤치호의 설교문 “그리스도는 누구뇨”에 나타난 신학사상과 의미심장한 핵심 논점들을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 그의 인간 이해에 관한 담론을 통해 인간의 선천적인 종교심, 하나님과 인간 사이의 관계성 정립, 타락 및 만성화된 죄성 등에 대해 살펴보았다. 둘째, 예수 그리스도와 구원에 관한 그의 성경적 이해를 바탕으로 하나님의 아들이시자 구주로서의 그리스도의 역사적 실존성, 그리스도 중보의 유일성, 구원의 확신, 참된 신앙고백, 구원의 서정에 대한 이해(‘신앙-성신의 감화-회개-정결-심리의 개조’, 동기론적 윤리, 인격적 지식 등에 대해 다루었다. 셋째, 개혁주의생명신학 관점에서 ‘솔루스 크리스투스(오직 그리스도)’ ‘솔라 그라티아’(오직 은혜), ‘솔라 피데’(오직 믿음) 등과 관련하여 그의 신앙고백을 고찰했다. 윤치호가 남긴 의미심장한 공헌과 주목해야 할 헌신을 고려하여 본 연구자는 이후 그에 관한 연구를 더욱 확장함으로써 이 주제 외에도 죽으심과 부활에 대한 이해, 성화관, 선교사상, 일기(1883-1943)에 나타난 신앙고백, 청년운동, 기독교청년회(YMCA)를 위한 헌신, 교육활동, 학생운동, 백오인 사건 등 다양한 방면의 담론으로 외연할 것을 기대한다.
Abstract
This research aims to analyze Jwa-Ong Chi-Ho Yun’s confession of faith in the early years of Japanese cultural policy, focusing on his sermon “Who is Christ?” from the reformed life theological standpoint. This text is based on Matthew 16:16. “And Simon Peter answered and said, 「Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.」”This sermon is appeared in Sermons by One Hundred Pastors & Teachers Vol. 1( 『百牧講演(第一集)』) published at Sept. 1921. The theological thoughts and meaningful key points of Chi-Ho Yun’s “Who is Christ?” could be summarized as follows: Firstly, I attempted to study Yun’s discourses on ‘biblical understanding of human being’ such as the priori religious sentiment, the establishment of relations between God and human being, the corruption and chronic sin, and so on. Secondly, on the basis of Yun’s biblical understanding of Jesus Christ and salvation, I treated with the historical existence of Christ as the Son of God and the Redeemer, the uniqueness of mediatorship of Christ, the assurance of salvation, the true confession of faith, understanding of the order of salvation(‘faith-the inspiration of the Holy Spirit-repentance-purity-reconstruction of heart’), motivational ethics, personal knowledge, and so forth. Thirdly, I studied on Yun’s confession of ‘Solus Christus’, ‘Sola Gratia’, and ‘Sola Fide’ from the perspective of the Reformed Life Theology. In light of Chi-Ho Yun’s significant contribution and remarkable devotion, I suggest future extensions of this study into other various themes such as understanding of the death and resurrection, the view of sanctification, missionary thoughts, confession of faith in his diary(1883-1943), youth movement, devotion to YMCA, educational activity, students movement, the Korean conspiracy case of 105 persons, and other related areas.
