The Church as a Creature of the God`s Word in the Theology of Bucer

초록

Stephens and Hammann define the church on Bucer as people of the Word, because they are people of the Holy Spirit, seeing the Father, together with the Lord, builds up his dwelling by them who have preserved the Word of the Lord. Only the word of God is the truth. And the one, who leads everyone and all to all truth, is the Holy Spirit. However, the Church is called the pillar of the truth, because the Word is heard only in the Church that is the body of Christ, who is the head of her. At this point, the Church is called the “locum pedum domini”, because God gives his own presence only in the Church. God is present in his own people by his Spirit and his Word. In and through the Church, God reveals his Word under the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Only in the true Church of Christ, we have the true understanding and the true explanation of the Bible, such as the Holy Spirit is promised only to her and leads her. Therefore, the true Church should offer not her own word, but only the Word of God the believe, and that on the command of God Himself.
