한국교회 청년사역에 대한 목회적 제언: 내수동교회를 중심으로

현재 한국교회가 성장이 둔화되고 있으며, 정체가 지속되고 있다. 이런 상황 속에서 대학청년부 세대를 향한 관심은 포기할 수 없는 주제다. 청년사역에 대한 고민은 한국교회의 미래와 관련한 핵심적 사안이다. 현 시점에서 청년사역에 대한 고민을 이와 같이 시급하고 진지하게 해야만 한다는 사실은 그만큼 한국교회의 미래에 대한 위기의식을 깊이 느끼고 있다는 것을 반증한다. 지역교회의 담임목사로서 나는 대학청년부세대의 영적 부흥은 우리가 생각하는 그 이상으로 크고 중요하다고 확신한다. 개 교회가 힘을 내고 영적인 동력을 모아야 할 때 젊은이 세대가 차지하는 비중은 절대적이라고 할 수 있기 때문이다. 더 나아가 교회의 선교적 사명을 제대로 감당하기 위해서라도 청년세대는 결코 포기할 수가 없다. 필자의 목회적인 경험을 통해 볼 때, 대학청년부 세대를 놓치면 교회가 영혼을 구원하는 전도를 할 수 있는 가능성이 현격하게 줄어드는 것이 사실이다. 하나님께서는 방황하는 세대, 즉 젊은이 세대를 통해서 선교적 기회를 주고 계신다. 필자는 한국교회 청년대학 사역에 있어서 역사적 의의를 지니고 있는 내수동교회의 담임 목사로서 내수동교회의 역사를 렌즈삼아 청년사역의 문제와 대안을 생각해보았다. 먼저 교회의 전적인 관심과 지원이 있어야 한다. 삶 속에서 그리스도를 따라가고 복음을 전하는 생활공동체 운동을 펼칠 필요가 있다. 그리고 개인주의가 지배하고 있는 시대정신을 대항하여 모이기를 힘쓰는 분위기를 조성해야 한다. 그러나 이 모든 것들을 가능하게 하는 근본적인 대안이 있다. 그것은 바로 기도성령운동이다. 나는 성령운동을 가장 근본적이고 절박한 해법이라고 생각한다. 청년대학 사역의 사활이 성령운동에 걸려 있다. 내수동교회 대학부의 역사도 성령운동이었다. 내수동교회 대학부가 영적, 수적 성장이 일어날 때마다 늘 보이지 않는 곳에서, 또는 공적 모임에서 합심하여 기도하는 일단의 무리들이 있었다. 그들의 기도는 건물 천장을 뚫고 하늘로 가는 것 같았고, 하나님께서는 내수동교회 대학부에 한량없는 영혼구원의 열매를 허락해 주셨다. 이것은 개혁주의생명신학이 제시하는 대안과도 동일하다. 개혁주의생명신학은 기도성령운동을 모든 실천 운동들의 근본적 동력으로 확신한다. 필자는 이 생각에 전적으로 동의한다. 그런데 문제는 성령운동을 현재와 미래에 어떻게 더욱 강력하게 펼칠 수 있는가 하는 것이다. 여기에 내수동교회와 한국 교회가 집중해야 한다. 이 방향성에 마음을 모을 수 있다면, 우리의 오늘의 시도와 노력은 결코 헛된 일이 아니라고 굳게 믿는다. 하나님께서 한국교회의 청년들 가운데 다시 한 번 영적 부흥을 일으켜 주시기를 간절히 소원한다.
Abstract
Today the Korea Church does not grow. It maintains the status quo. In this situation the concern about the youth generation is the issue not to give up. It is the core case of the Korea Church how to carry out the ministry of the Gospel for the youth generation. The concern and worry about the youth demonstrates the crisis awareness to the future of the Korea Church. I feel confident as a senor pastor of a local church the spiritual revival of young people is more important than we think. The reason is that they absolutely take big part when a church gathers spiritual energy. Moreover we don`t abandon the generation in order to achieve the missionary calling. From my pastoral experience, it is true that the loss of young people causes evangelism to decline significantly. God gives the opportunity of mission work through youth generation. I, as senior pastor of Naesoodong Presbyterian Church, which has the historical significance in the Korea Church youth ministry, suggested problems and solution on the history of Naesoodong Presbyterian Church. First, church should be much concerned about the young people, and support fully. Second, there is need to manage the life community to follow Jesus Christ and evangelize the Gospel in the daily life. Lastly, we should create an atmosphere to meet together against the spirit of the age, individualism. However there is the fundamental answer to do all of these. It is the movement of prayer-the Holy Spirit. I think the movement is the essential and urgent solution. It is a matter of life and death in the youth ministry. The amazing history of Naesoodong Presbyterian Church young people community is also the movement of prayer-the Holy Spirit. In every spiritual and numerical growth there is some prayer meetings which prayed with one mind in hidden places or public gatherings. Their prayers seemed to soar into heaven through the roof. God allowed of fruits of life salvation in the young people community. It equals with the answers which Reformed Life Theology proposes. Reformed Life Theology holds a conviction that movement of prayer-the Holy Spirit is the fundamental power. I definitely agree with it. The problem is how to expand the Holy Spirit movement in present and future. The Korea Church should concentrate on this. I think that our trial and effort today is never fruitless if we put together our minds to this direction. God arouse spiritual revival again in Korea young people.
