1980년대 시작된 기독교 세계관 운동은 교육의 영역에도 “기독교적 교육”을 향한 관심을 이끌었고, 이는 신앙과 학문의 통합과 기독교적 가르침에 대한 관심으로 이어졌다. 2000년대 초반부터 관련된 연구와 세미나가 활발하게 진행되었으나, 최근 관련주제에 대한 기독교교육자의 연구와 신앙을 통합한 가르침을 위한 기독교사의 노력이 현저하게 줄어들고 있다. 본 연구에서는그 이유를 밝히기 위해서 신앙과 학문 통합을 이해하고 실천하기위해 활용되었던 다양한 접근법을 살펴보았다. 먼저 신앙과 학문통합이라는 다소 모호한 개념을 이해하고자 제시된 “아니다”의접근법과 그 문제점을 지적하였다. 또한 기독교 신앙에 근거하여가르치는 내용을 재해석하고 교육과정을 재구성하기 위해 제시된 다양한 기독교적 가르침 모델과 그 한계를 살펴보았다. 더 나아가 신앙과 학문 통합에 관한 연구와 기독교적 가르침의 실천을향한 열정이 다시 회복되기를 바라며, 예수 그리스도와 친밀한관계 가운데 세워진 올바른 신앙이 우선적으로 회복되어야 함을강조하였다. 회복된 신앙에 근거하여 하나님의 창조 세계 안에서가르치고자 하는 영역을 탐구하며 하나님의 질서를 깨닫고, 하나님의 놀라우심과 경이로우심을 경험해야 함과 죄로 인해 무너진창조 세계를 향한 하나님의 애통함에 공감해야 한다. 이 애통함은 회복을 향한 열정과 연결되어 “회복의 대리인”으로 그 영역이다시 하나님 나라로 회복되기를 소망하는 다음 세대를 세워갈 것이기 때문이다. 마지막으로 신앙과 학문의 통합과 신앙을 통합한가르침을 향한 노력은 억지로 순종하며 이루는 것이 아니라, 하나님의 은혜를 누리는 과정으로서, 하나님의 창조하신 세상을 온전히 누리는 길이 되어야 함을 강조하였다.
Abstract
The Christian worldview movement that began in the 1980s has drawn attention to "Christian education" in the field of education, leading to an interest in the integration of faith and learning and Christian teaching. From the early 2000s, related research and seminars were actively conducted. However, recently there has been a noticeable decline in Christian educators' research on related topics and Christian teachers' efforts to integrate faith into their teaching. This study examines various approaches used to understand and practice the integration of faith and learning to identify the reasons for this decline. First, it addresses the "Is Not" approach proposed to understand the somewhat ambiguous concept of faith and learning integration and its shortcomings. It also explores various Christian teaching models suggested for reinterpreting content and restructuring curricula based on Christian faith, along with their limitations. Furthermore, to emphasize the need to restore passion for research on faith and learning integration and the practice of Christian teaching, the study stresses that a sincere faith, established through a close relationship with Jesus Christ, must be restored first. Based on this restored faith, educators should explore areas of subjects to teach within God's creation, recognize God's order, experience His wonder and awe, and empathize with His sorrow for the fallen creation due to sin. This sorrow is connected to a passion for restoration, aiming to raise the next generation as "agents of restoration" who hope for these areas to be restored to God's Kingdom. Finally, the study highlights that efforts towards the integration of faith and learning and Christian teaching should not be carried out through forced obedience, but as a process of enjoying God's grace, leading to fully experiencing the world created by God.
