본 연구는 다문화 가정 어머니의 신생아돌보기 지식과 신생아돌보기 교육 요구도를 파악하고 관련 변수를규명하여 다문화가정 어머니를 위한 신생아돌보기 교육프로그램 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 연구대상자는 B광역시, U광역시의 여성전문병원, 산부인과 의원, 다문화가정지원센터에 다니는 중국,베트남 출신 기혼여성 144명이 대상이었으며, 자료수집기간은 2013년 10월 1일부터 2014년 9월 30일까지로 자국의 언어로 번역된 자가 보고식 설문지로 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 다문화가정 여성의 신생아돌보기 지식은 중상정도로 나타났으며, 교육요구도는 상당히 높은 것으로 나타났다. 신생아돌보기 지식에 영향을 미치는 제 특성으로는 연령, 국적, 한국거주기간, 결혼기간, 자녀유무, 학력, 종교, 수입, 가정생활수준, 가족형태, 지각한건강상태, 신생아돌봄경험, 신생아돌보기 준비경험, 신생아돌보기 교육경험으로 나타났다. 또한 신생아돌보기 교육요구도에 영향을 미치는 특성은 국적, 자녀유무, 신생아 돌봄 경험으로 나타났다. 한편 신생아돌보기 지식과 교육요구도는 유의한 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 다문화가정 어머니들의 신생아돌보기 교육요구도는 상당히 높은 것으로 나타났으므로 향후 다문화가정 어머니의 국적과 자녀유무, 신생아돌봄경험등을 고려하여 신생아돌보기 지식이 낮고 교육요구도가높은 영역을 중심으로 신생아돌보기 교육프로그램을 개발하여 실시하는 것이 필요하다고 본다.
Abstract
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to identify degree and affecting factors of knowledgeand education demands toward newborn care in multi-cultural mothers. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional descriptive design and a population-based data collectionof 144 Chinese & Vietnamese mothers. The 93-item Knowledge and Education Demandstoward Newborn Care Scale translated into their mother language was used for data collection,while descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were used in thedata analyses. Results: Multi-cultural mothers’ knowledge toward Newborn care was relatively high and demandtoward newborn care education was a pretty high. Country of origin, with or without children, andnewborn care experience made mothers’ knowledge and education demand toward newborn caresignificantly different. Conclusion: As the result suggested, country of origin, with or without children, and newborncare experience need to be considered when designing newborn baby care educatinal program formulti-cultural mothers.
