초록
A common user authentication method for smart devices such as a smart phone and a smart pad is a personal identification number (PIN). However, the traditional PIN-entry method is vulnerable to various attacks. To solve this problem, we propose new PIN-entry methods using vibration feedback from smart devices. Our methods improve the resistance of previous PIN-entry methods against shoulder surfing attacks and recording attacks, keeping the PIN-entry time at a practical level in spite of the use of vibration signals.
Abstract
A common user authentication method for smart devices such as a smart phone and a smart pad is a personal identification number (PIN). However, the traditional PIN-entry method is vulnerable to various attacks. To solve this problem, we propose new PIN-entry methods using vibration feedback from smart devices. Our methods improve the resistance of previous PIN-entry methods against shoulder surfing attacks and recording attacks, keeping the PIN-entry time at a practical level in spite of the use of vibration signals.
